I'm not normally a big fan of horror and monster stories, but this book transcends genre and is much more cleverly done than your average monster tale. There are stories that are just plain fun and scary, and some that are quite literary and artistic. The Zombie Pub Crawl story is a riot. The Paper Tigers story has a heart-breaking undercurrent of abandonment and The Troll has a chilling and artistic description of child abuse that has you gunning for revenge. Yaeger is a talented author and I look forward to reading more of his works in the future.Product details

After reading the first page of the zombie pub crawl story I couldn't put the book down. I don't read too often, but this book is different from your standard horror novel. It contains several short stories each showcasing something completely different from what you're used to. This gem seriously needs to be a house hold name by now. Overall, if you like horror and are looking for a change from the average horror story give this one a chance.

okay but honestly i wasn't scared.
This will cure narcolepsy, trust me, you ain't sleepin' after you read this. I haven't been this enthralled and terrified by a new author since the first time I read Stephen King. Yaeger's world is ripe with things that go bump in the night and the humans who insist on denying their existence until it is too late. Everyone know about AA, but did you ever wonder what gets discussed at a CA meeting? Or what happens if you can't pay back your loan shark on time? It's time to find out. Close your closet tight. Check under the bed. Then curl up with "Bedtime Stories for the Insomniac" and read until your blood curdles.
